Greaves such as these were not only worn by the Greek city states, but also by Roman soldiers during the Roman monarchy period and in the republic. The greaves are constructed from 2 mm thick steel and measure 58 cm in length. They weigh approx. 2. 3 kg. The size may be readily adjusted by means of the leather straps.
