El Cid means 'the lord' in a mix of Spanish and Arabic. He had two swords: Tizona and Colada. El Cid won Colada from the Count of Barcelona and gave it to one of his sons in law, but reclaimed it when he mistreated his daughter. A sword that is thought to be Colada is now exhibited at the Royal Palace of Madrid. This replica
